The loan extension of Kiki Musampa is the only signing that the new City boss has made so far this summer but, speaking to Steve Bates of the People, he claims he is not panicking.
‘Psycho’ has narrowed his scope of potential signings and will set his sights on completing a deal for his key targets this week.
“I’ve now got a clearer idea of what I’m looking for and hopefully we’ll be able to bring in at least two of the three I want before the players report back on July 7,” Pearce said in today’s People.
“It’s important we bring them in the day we start back. We don’t want them coming on the eve of the season because I am looking to quickly stamp my personality on the side, let them know my expectations and build on what we have done since I took over.
“We’ve been offered dozens of players but I’m only interested if they’ll improve us. I don’t want to put more financial strain on the club by having someone sitting on the bench or not even in my 16. That’s why I haven’t brought anyone in...yet.
“I’m not panicking but in an ideal world I would have liked to have done my business at the back end of the season. Then I could have had a holiday, but it’s not a problem.”
Pearce has been busy since the end of the season, overseeing a £125,000 refurb at City’s training ground in Carrington and making four trips to both Germany (for the Confederations Cup) and France on scouting missions.
The City chief also revealed that last week he went to a leadership course at Stamford Bridge.
