Tottenham have maintained they do not plan on selling Harry Kane this summer - despite reports that Manchester City have agreed a British record transfer £160m for the England captain.
There are no indications as it stands that chairman Daniel Levy has relented on his position on selling Kane.
90min has learned that no agreement is in place at the moment, though Kane and his people are continuing to push hard for a move away from north London. A transfer has been in Kane's planning for a number of months, with Spurs not in a position to challenge for major trophies.
Doubts also remain over whether Premier League champions City would break the British transfer record by around £70m, and their own by £90m, as it goes against their existing policy on incomings. That is even while Kane and Aston Villa's Jack Grealish are their top targets ahead of the new season.
A report from the Sun on Thursday night developed the saga. It stated that City had agreed a £160m deal with Spurs, with Kane set to earn £400,000 a week on a four or five year contract - though the reports have taken both clubs by surprise, and Spurs are denying an agreement has been reached.
Kane did however make it clear to Spurs earlier this summer that he would like to join a rival Premier League club after spending his entire career in north London.
His preference has always been to stay in England, and he's believed to have the all time record for Premier League goals in his sights, something currently held by Alan Shearer.
The strongest interest in Kane had come from City, Manchester United and Chelsea, though Levy has been loathe to sell his best player to a domestic rival in recent months. The report, however, stated that Levy had "caved in" to Kane's wishes.
Kane and his brother Charlie, who is also his agent, are said to have shared the news to other members of the family at Charlie's wedding last Sunday - learning initially of Levy's supposed change of heart over selling Kane in a phone call last Friday.
