Sergio Aguero has promised that Manchester City will "fight until the very end" in the Premier League title race, ahead of the Citizens' vital clash against table topping Liverpool on Sunday.
The Reds could extend their lead over Pep Guardiola's side to nine points with a victory, while City could cut the deficit to just three if they can get the win.
Key to Guardiola's gameplan this weekend will be Aguero, who has scored nine goals in ten games so far this season.
Speaking before the crunch fixture, the Argentinian striker insisted that City are more than ready for a tense title fight, similar to the one they experienced last season.
The Citizens pipped Liverpool to top spot by a single point last campaign - despite the Reds holding a five point lead at one point - and Aguero believes that shows his side have the required mentality to go the distance again.
“You know what I’ve always said. We’ll fight until the very end," the 31-year-old told the club website.
“It’s my personal philosophy and a motto of this football club.
“However, there’s a quite a bit of road ahead of us.
“We have to trust our game, give our utmost effort, and, just like usual, fight until the very end.”
