Pep Guardiola has said that Riyad Mahrez is a player who will rarely suffer from injuries due to the fact that he has no muscles in his legs.
The winger has been in fantastic form for Manchester City in recent weeks, and probably would have been expecting different sort of praise after scoring twice in a thumping 6-1 victory against Aston Villa.
However, speaking after the game, Guardiola was quick to praise praise Mahrez's ability in the final third, but also wanted to make clear that the former Leicester City man has skinny legs.
He said (via Manchester Evening News):
"The level he played last season was good too. He loves to play football.
Whatever the reason for his good form, Guardiola will want Mahrez to continue playing in this fashion, and perhaps continue to skip leg day at the gym too.
After a slow start to life at City, it looks like Mahrez is enjoying his football again, taking more of a commanding role this season at the Etihad Stadium.
City's win against Villa moved them into second place ahead of Leicester, and they will be hoping to remain there until the end of the season with Liverpool simply too far ahead at the top of the Premier League table.
Guardiola's men will now face Crystal Palace on Saturday as they look to gain revenge for last season's shock 3-2 home defeat to Roy Hodgon's side. Andros Townsend's wonder volley stole the show on what was a famous day for the Eagles.
