MOVEMENT IN DEFENCE?

Everton have put Unsworth's contract talks on hold, and with the 30-year-old out-of-contract in the summer, the News of the World has said that Kevin Keegan is preparing to step in and secure his services for City.

City defender Gerard Wiekens is also out of contract in the summer and will be released by Kevin Keegan.

The Dutchman was hoping to stay in England, possibly moving to Burnley, but it now looks likely that the 31-year-old will be moving back to his homeland with NAC Breda.

Wiekens has played over 200 times for the Blues and is currently the club's longest serving player but has made only one appearance this season, against TNS at the Millennium Stadium.
