It's beginning to feel like the end of an era at Manchester City. After legend Yaya Toure departed in 2018, it became apparent that the days were numbered for plenty of the stars who had ushered in this new and exciting period for the Premier League champions.
And it seems that Sergio Aguero's name can also be added to that list, as the prolific striker - who has been at the forefront of the Cityzens' rise to glory - looks set to leave the Etihad Stadium in the not-too-distant future.
The 31-year-old's current contract expires at the end of the 2020/21 campaign, but as 90min previously revealed, the Sky Blues will not stand in his way should he decide to leave Manchester prior to that date, as a token of gratitude for his sterling efforts over the years.
And The Mirror reports that the club's leading goalscorer may well be set for a return to Argentina, as his former club Independiente have launched 'Operation Aguero,' in a bid to lure him back to his homeland.
Aguero has previously expressed his desire to return to the place where his career began, and Independiente coach
“We are saving him [Aguero] the No.10 shirt," the coach explained.
“I have a beautiful friendship with Kun and hopefully I can be his coach tomorrow.
“I was once his teammate and now I want to be his coach.
