Manchester City release 2021/22 third shirt - and it has no badge

Manchester City have released their third kit for the 2021/22 season - and it does not include the club's badge.

The interesting design sees the Cityzens ditch their famous crest, instead opting to fill the space with the words 'MAN CITY' in block capitals.

The intriguing decision is the brainchild of Puma, who have been producing the club's kits since 2019. They have not been afraid of taking risks in the past, opting for a paisley-inspired fit for City's away strip last campaign.

The decision to do away with the club's badge is an even bolder move. The kit is said to be "straight out of the archives of tomorrow". It features a two-tone blue designed with barely-visible grey badges dotted all over the jersey. A white Puma logo and sponsor complete the look. The shirt is accompanied by navy blue shorts - which do include a club crest in the traditional sense- and socks.

The kit uses Dope Dye technology, an innovative manufacturing process that helps reduce the amount of water and dye used in production. The material is dryCELL - a thermoregulation technology that keeps you dry and comfortable. Ultra-light jacquard structure on the back also enhances breathability.

It is the last of City's three kits to be released this season. The home strip features a unique digital clock design, commemorating Sergio Aguero's last-minute winner that clinched City their first Premier League title ten seasons ago.

Meanwhile, their away kit in inspired by water. It boasts a clean white design and proceeds from its sale will be partly-used for charitable purposes.

If you have always hated football shirts with badges on, the Man City third shirt is available from the club's online store for £70 now.
