Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola Eyeing Swoop For PSV Starlet Mohamed Ihattaren

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is targeting a move for PSV youngster Mohamed Ihattaren, who has caught the eye of Europe's elite during his breakthrough season in the Netherlands.

Ihattaren has shone in the Eredivisie this year, scoring three goals and bagging six assists in his 15 league matches.

According to ESPN (as cited by Football Oranje), the wonderkid's brilliant form has captured the attention of Premier League giants Man City, who are keen to add some youth to their ageing squad.

Ihattaren is a creative midfielder who can play anywhere across the forward line, and his quick feet and dazzling skills have helped him stand out as one of the hottest prospects in European football.

The Dutchman's impressive start to the season has lifted PSV into third place in the Dutch league, and he has also scored three goals in this year's Europa League campaign, making Man City's Spanish boss stand up and take note

Guardiola is reportedly keen to rebuild his City squad for the 2020/21 season, and with the likes of midfielder David Silva leaving the Etihad stadium at the end of the campaign, it gives the Premier League champions the opportunity to blood some youth into their side.

The Cityzens have struggled to recapture the heights of their previous two seasons under the ex-Barcelona coach, slipping to 14 points behind runaway league leaders Liverpool at the midway point of the campaign.

The league champions pipped the Reds to top spot by one point last year, but they have been unable to continue their relentless winning form, and Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool look destined to lift the elusive Premier League trophy.

With a third consecutive league title seemingly out of reach, Guardiola may have one eye on building a competitive squad for the upcoming season, starting with the signing of Ihattaren.
