Man City Transfers: 3 Left Wingers Pep Guardiola Could Realistically Target This Summer

This summer it seems increasingly likely that Leroy Sane will Man City, with a move to Bayern Munich heavily touted, despite a bumper contract being offered at the Etihad. Sane hasn't featured for City since the Community Shield season opener against Liverpool, after tearing his ACL, which paved the way for Raheem Sterling to make the position his own.

That being said, should anything happen to Sterling, City will have a seriously lack of options on the left, despite having the mercurial talents of both Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez on the opposite flank.

This won't do for Pep so expect him to add some reinforcements should Sane leave as expected.

This is the final instalment where we decide who Pep should target in the upcoming transfer market, and we've picked out three top quality left wingers for him to look at to give Sterling a run for his money.

Mikel Oyarzabal

Real Sociedad have been a real surprise package in La Liga this season, and it's in no small part down to Oyarzabal. He's the main man in the Basque team's attack, and that's saying something when you consider that Martin Odergaard is also in their attack.

A product of Sociedad's academy, Oyarzabal is an extremely dangerous player, contributing eight goals and six assists in 26 games this season. He's quick, very strong for a winger, and he has the vision of a deep lying playmaker. He could be the man to reinvigorate the Spanish flair that will be missing once David Silva departs the club as well.

Potential Price: £45m - £55m

Ferran Torres

Staying in Spain, this time with an even younger player, Valencia winger Ferran Torres is an extremely gifted individual with a very bright future ahead of him. He's equally good with both feet, can play on either flank and is devastating when allowed to cross.

Torres is Valencia's prized asset, but with his contract due to expire next summer, it may be wise for them to cash in this summer if he doesn't want to re-sign with them.

Potential Price: £40m - £50m

Jadon Sancho

What is there to say about Sancho that hasn't already been said? Arguably the best winger in world football this season, rivalling the likes of Sadio Mane, Neymar and a certain Raheem Sterling, Sancho is on every elite clubs shopping list this summer, so BVB will have a tough time keeping hold of him.

That being said, they'll make a nice hefty profit on him, having only paid £7m to pry him from City back in 2017. In 23 Bundesliga games this season, he's produced 14 goals and 16 assists - that's world class in any book.

The only problem will be that he came to Dortmund to get away from City in the first place. He was in danger of stagnating and he may not want to return to be in danger of sitting on the bench again watching Sterling and Bernardo Silva play.

Potential Price: £110m - £140m
