Man City Identify Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman as a Potential Leroy Sané Replacement

Manchester City have reportedly shortlisted Kingsley Coman as a potential replacement for Leroy Sané, who is expected to join Bayern Munich this summer.

The Bundesliga champions still need to reach an agreement with City over Sané's transfer fee, but the Germany international has already been convinced over the move and personal terms shouldn't be a problem with the transfer.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will look to replace the outbound Sané ahead of the 2020/21 season and Sky Germany claim Bayern Munich's Coman is one of the players he's considering.

The France international isn't a like for like replacement, but Guardiola has past experience working with Coman at Bayern Munich during the 2015/16 season, where he scored six goals and picked up 12 assists across all competitions.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are also mentioned as clubs who are monitoring Coman's future, as the Frenchman's place will not only come under threat from Sané but also from Alphonso Davies, who's been used as a makeshift left-back this season.

It's claimed Bayern Munich value Coman at almost €60m

Sky Germany don't mention whether a swap deal would be an option for either side, but 90min understands Austria international David Alaba could be used to sweeten the Sané deal.

Manchester City are looking for a long-term replacement for Benjamin Mendy, with Alaba's inclusion in a deal for Sané potentially proving to be a cheaper option for the club compared to their other targets Ben Chilwell and Lucas Digne.

For Bayern Munich, they're looking into any way to bring Sané's £100m price tag down - his contract situation and the coronavirus outbreak should do most of the heavy lifting with that - and the club believe they could spend as little as £10m if Alaba is used as bait.

Alaba's future at Bayern Munich will rest heavily on what terms were written into Davies' new contract.

Although the 19-year-old has played at left-back this season, that's only because Alaba has been covering for injuries to Niklas Süle and Lucas Hernandez at centre-back, and Davies will likely want to return to an attacking role next year.
