Manchester City have opened an investigation into the crowd troubles that tarnished the Sky Blues' EFL Cup semi final victory over neighbours Manchester United on Wednesday night.
Fans in the away end at the Etihad Stadium were seen throwing seats at their rivals, who reacted by hurling them back towards the visiting supporters.
Chaos erupted again after Nemanja Matic scored the only goal of the second leg as a red smoke canister was tossed into the home section of the crowd.
Though the Serbian midfielder secured a 1-0 triumph on the night, City's 3-1 win in their first meeting at Old Trafford proved enough for Pep Guardiola's recruits, with this their third consecutive appearance in the League Cup final.
However, the Daily Mail report the club are not in a celebratory mood, with officials set to review footage of what occurred in the south stand against the Red Devils.
The violence that broke out is not City's only concern after videos emerged online showing home supporters taunting their opponents over the Munich air disaster of 1958, which killed a total of 23 United players, coaches and fans.
This comes after hooded thugs attacked the residence of Red Devils chief Ed Woodward on Tuesday.
