Lucas Hernandez Offered to Manchester City as Part of Bayern Munich's Bid to Sign Leroy Sané

Bayern Munich are willing to offer Lucas Hernandez to Manchester City as part of a deal to bring Leroy Sané to the club.

Die Roten have been chasing Sané since last summer and remain heavily interested in the forward. The 24-year-old has endured an injury hit 2019/2020 season with a ruptured cruciate ligament he suffered during the Community Shield preventing him from making a single first team appearance so far.

Despite his injury woe, Bayern are willing to let Hernandez depart in order to secure Sané's services, according to a report by German outlet TZ. The World Cup winner only arrived at the Allianz Arena last summer - for a Bundesliga record €80m - but the former Atletico Madrid man has struggled to establish himself in the first team.

After starting consistently at the beginning of the season, he suffered an ankle injury in October and has found playing time hard to come by since returning to fitness in February.

The emergence of Alphonso Davies as one of the most exciting left-backs in the world, combined with David Alaba's evolution into a composed centre-back, has prevented Hernandez from breaking back into Hansi Flick's side.

He is not the only Bayern player who could be offered up in order to get the Sané deal over the line. A source told 90min earlier this month that Alaba is also being considered as makeweight with the club looking to chip away at the Cityzens hefty £100m asking price.

City boss Pep Guardiola views the Austrian as the successor to the unreliable Benjamin Mendy, who has suffered a string of fitness problems since arriving from Monaco in 2017. However, they are likely to face competition from Barcelona, Inter and Chelsea who are monitoring Alaba's situation closely.

Sané, meanwhile, is back in training with City as they gear themselves up for the Premier League's resumption, currently pencilled in for 17 June.
