Kevin de Bruyne Reveals He and His Family May Have Contracted Coronavirus

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has revealed that he and his family may already have contracted the coronavirus, though he confirmed that any symptoms have since passed.

The Belgian midfielder has been isolating with his family at their home in Manchester since the government imposed a nationwide lockdown.

Despite not being able to confirm whether he had contracted the virus, due to a shortage in testing kits, the 28-year-old says he and his family all believe they were displaying the symptoms.

"At the beginning of the lockdown my family was sick for eight or nine days," De Bruyne said, quoted by ESPN. "It started with my little boy, then my older boy and then my wife, but I don't know if we had it or not.

"Luckily we are out of it and the last two or three weeks has been really good and we are finding a routine and everything so we are fine. I had just a little bit of pain in my throat but out of the four I was really good in comparison to the other ones. I am happy that they feel fine and now they are doing really well."

Like many other Premier League stars, De Bruyne is currently tasked with trying to keep fit while at home and unable to attend training sessions.

The Manchester City midfielder has recently posted a video on social media of him using his children as makeshift weights.

Despite conceding he was originally unsure of whether to post the clip online, the Belgian star says he was persuaded to by his partner and that it received a positive reaction.

"You have to keep them entertained and they want to have fun," he added. "It was just a joke. I didn't want to post it but my missus was like 'this is funny and people will like it.' In the end it was just some fun and a lot of people enjoyed it."
