Jadon Sancho 'Open' to Man City Return if Man Utd Move Falls Through

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho would consider a return to Manchester City if he fails to seal his preferred move to Manchester United.

United and Dortmund are locked in a stand-off over the potential cost of a move for Sancho. The German side believe his value has not been impacted by the coronavirus outbreak, whereas United are now determined to avoid spending over £100m.

Sancho left City in 2017 in search of first-team football

Sancho is eager to return to the Premier League this summer, but should a move to United break down, his chances of doing so could be slim as Chelsea appear to have started looking elsewhere and Liverpool are unlikely to spend heavily this summer. City have been touted as a potential option, and The Sun state that Sancho would open to a return to the Etihad Stadium.

As it stands, City are not expected to move for Sancho, despite holding the option to match any bid which Dortmund accept for their former academy star. Spending so heavily on one player is not in Pep Guardiola's plans, but that could change if Leroy Sané seals his move to Bayern Munich.

City are holding out for close to £63m for the wantaway German, and even though Bayern are hesitant to pay that much, any sale would add a sizeable chunk to City's transfer budget this summer.

Bayern Munich are pushing to sign Leroy Sane

Not only will Sané's future play a part in any return to City for Sancho, but so will the Court of Arbitration for Sport. City are currently facing a two-year Champions League ban which, if upheld, would likely deter Sancho from returning.

United remain in the driver's seat and there is confidence from both the Red Devils and Dortmund that this deal will get over the line eventually, but the delay in reaching an agreement has sparked a flurry of other rumours.

One such report comes from the Daily Star, who state that United's focus has now turned to landing Aston Villa's Jack Grealish in a £75m deal - a bold figure to commit to for a player who could well be relegated this season.

United also want to sign Aston Villa's Jack Grealish

90min understands that United's focus is on landing Sancho, and with so much time left before the transfer window closes, there is an expectation that an agreement will be reached before the start of next season.
