Jack Harrison Hopeful of Extending Leeds United Spell If They Are Promoted to the Premier League

Leeds United loanee Jack Harrison says he wants to say at Elland Road beyond this season - but only after helping the club finally return to the Premier League.

The 23-year-old is coming to the end of a two-year loan spell at Leeds from parent club Manchester City, who he joined in a £3.6m deal from their sister club New York City.

Harrison, who spent time at Manchester United and Liverpool as a youth player, has made 82 appearances for Leeds United over the last two years and he says he'd like to stay at the club beyond this season.

"I want to do everything I can to help them get to the Premier League and hopefully I can still be with them next season," Harrison told ESPN.

"As a player, I always want to play at the highest level and push myself to the limit. I am not opposed to going back to Man City if that’s what’s required of me, if that’s what is wanted. I have to be ambitious as a player as well.

"If it’s playing with Man City or wherever, or with Leeds in the Premiership next season, I’m going to try and play my best wherever it is. We’ll just have to see what happens I think."

It's unknown if Leeds United have an option to buy Harrison at the end of the season, but the Manchester Evening News have reported the 23-year-old would be allowed to leave City if the club receives an offer of £8m.

Marcelo Bielsa's side dealt with City's negotiations during the January transfer window when they signed Ian Poveda from the Premier League champions' Under-23 side, but a deal for Harrison will only be sanctioned if the club gets promoted.

Leeds United are currently top of the Championship table ahead of West Brom, while they're also seven points inside the automatic promotion places.
