Tottenham Hotspur are holding firm over Harry Kane, while chairman Daniel Levy is angry with the news stories surrounding his captain is behaving as he continues to push for a transfer away from the club this summer.
Over the weekend a story broke that Kane - who has made clear his ambitions to leave Tottenham in search of silverware - had been told that he was going to be allowed to join Manchester City.
However, Tottenham were quick to deny that they had relented in their stance of not wanting to sell Kane – as 90min confirmed - and the club are showing no signs of changing mind about their captain, who turns 28 later this week.
City also played down claims that they had agreed to a deal worth £160m for the England striker – despite the fact they are very much interested.
Other reports have since come out saying that Kane and his team remain confident that a deal will be reached eventually, despite Spurs chairman Daniel Levy's public stance.
90min has been told that Levy was far from amused with the weekend stories that Kane had already agreed a move and that he himself had backed down.
Kane is contracted to Tottenham for another three years and Spurs have been insistent all summer that they do not want him to leave, and will not listen to offers.
Levy and Tottenham believe that Kane should give new manager Nuno Espirito Santo and managing director of football Fabio Paratici a chance to show what they can do.
While it is said that Kane has already agreed personal terms with City, one issue in his pursuit to leave this summer is that real suitors have been few and far between. Due to his value, the market is limited.
Apart from Man City, Chelsea are still in contact while French giants Paris Saint-Germain are also watching closely and should Kylian Mbappe leave this summer.
However, as it stands Tottenham are planning on Kane starting (and finishing) the next Premier League season with them - though he is unlikely to turn out for any team on the 15 August curtain raiser, due to an extended summer break post Euros.
