Bayern Munich Consider £50m Bid to Get Leroy Sane Deal Over the Line

Bayer Munich are considering a bid in excess of £50m in order to land Manchester City winger Leroy Sane in the summer.

The Bavarian giants have already convinced the 24-year-old over the move, but an agreement between the two clubs still needs to be reached.

Sane has one year remaining on his Manchester City contract, but it will still require a lofty transfer fee to convince the Premier League champions to part ways with him.

The German international has missed the entirety of the 2019/20 Premier League season after suffering a cruciate ligament injury in the Community Shield final in August, reports in the Telegraph suggest that Bayern are still willing to press ahead with a bid of €65m (£56.75m) in order to complete the deal.

The Bundesliga leaders initially valued Sane at £35m when their interest first emerged, but City made it clear that they would not be accepting such a low offer.

The new €65m figure has been discussed at the Allianz Arena, and a decision will be made regarding the move once the transfer window opens.

Although steep, the figure is still a huge reduction on the £140m valuation City placed on Sane when Bayern first registered their interest last summer.

Should a deal be finalised, personal terms should be relatively easy to agree, given Sane's willingness to move to Bayern, and the fact no new long term deal has come close to being agreed at the Etihad.

On Tuesday, 90min exclusively revealed that City have their sights set on David Alaba as a potential target, and although the left back is not yet part of negotiations, he could be used to speed up a potential move for Sane.

Bayern would include Alaba in the deal if it meant reducing Sane's asking price to as little as £10m.

City have also identified Alaba's Bayern teammate Kingsley Coman as a potential Sane replacement, with the Bundesliga champions valuing the 23-year-old at nearly €60m.

Both Alaba and Coman played under Guardiola during his stint in charge at the Allianz Arena, and there's no indication that the pair would be against reuniting with their former boss.
