While nothing can ever truly match the thrill of an impending game, re-watching classic games of the modern era is both comforting and joyful. For Manchester City fans, the recent past has conjured up a host of classic matches that fully deserve a second look.
Here's a look at nine glorious Manchester City games of recent times that are worth a rewatch...
Manchester City 2-2 Gillingham (1999)
Only one place to start, of course!
While City fans will understandably point to the 'Aguero moment' as perhaps the greatest ever for the club, there is no denying the sheer importance of the Second Division playoff final win in 1999.
With the club languishing in the third tier of English football, promotion was vital to keep the club alive. As city neighbours Manchester United were securing a treble at Camp Nou, the Sky Blues were revelling in their own dramatic finale to the season.
With the score 0-0 at 80 minutes, the game suddenly sparked into life as Gillingham scored two quick goals to leave City's hopes in tatters. However, after City midfielder Kevin Horlock had reduced the arrears in the 90th minute - and with the game heading into five minutes of stoppage time - Paul Dickov netted into the top corner to save his side.
City would go on to win 3-1 on penalties after Nicky Weaver's heroics and sparked a blue revival.
Manchester City 1-0 Manchester United (2011)
The noisy neighbours had emerged as a real threat to the Red Devils' Manchester superiority, with this FA Cup semi-final signifying a new dawn for the club.
While United were vying to keep their trebles hopes on track, City were in search of reaching their first FA Cup final since 1981 - which they lost to Tottenham in a replay.
Despite being favourites, United were pegged back by Yaya Toure's goal in the 52nd minute and never truly recovered, particularly when Paul Scholes was shown a second yellow card with 17 minutes remaining.

Manchester City 1-0 Stoke (2011)
While not perhaps the most exciting FA Cup final of recent times, City's triumph was a real turning point for Roberto Mancini's side.
The lack of silverware had plagued the club since the 1976 League Cup victory, particularly due to the continued success of both Liverpool and United.
Although Tony Pulis' underdogs put up a stern test, the quality of the City side was simply too strong, as Toure's thumping effort in the 74th minuted led his team to the trophy.
Such is the harsh nature of football, Stoke now ply their trade in the Championship, while City have gone on to win a multitude of trophies.
Manchester United 1-6 Manchester City (2011)
The manner of this victory - made as well as Mario Balotelli's iconic 'Why Always Me?' celebration - earmarked a changing of the guard in Manchester.
Although Sir Alex Ferguson's men had dominated the derby for a number of years, the Sheikh Mansour era had seen City close the gap - and quickly.
Although only leading 1-0 at half-time, City's modern ruthlessness showed after Jonny Evans red card on 47 minutes.
Three late goals past the 90 minute mark rubbed salt into the United wounds, and showed City's title credentials.
Manchester City 3-2 QPR (2012)
For most City fans, the last minute is probably on a constant loop on your screen right now, but if not, why not give it one more rewatch.
This final day title grab by the Citizens is undoubtedly the Premier League's greatest ever moment. While it may not eclipse Arsenal's victory over Liverpool in 1989, the drama of Aguero's finish, combined with Martin Tyler's iconic commentary, means this moments deserves replaying over and over.
With City needing to win to clinch the title but a goal down heading into stoppage time, Edin Dzeko drew Mancini's men level in the 92nd minute, before Aguero latched on to Balotelli's through ball to snatch victory.
Manchester City 3-1 Barcelona (2016)
Although City and the Champions League have had a complex relationship, few fans can argue that there have been better nights at the Etihad than this one.
After a 4-0 defeat at Camp Nou in the reverse fixture, Pep Guardiola's side tore their group stages opponents apart in a devastating attacking display.
The Catalan giants had taken an early lead through Lionel Messi, but two goals from Ilkay Gundogan and a Kevin De Bruyne effort steered the team to victory.

Manchester City 5-3 AS Monaco (2017)
This game really did have everything.
Glorious goals, devastating counter-attacking and an inevitable John Stones defensive error.
Defending truly went out the window as the two sides traded blow after blow in a thrilling end to end game. Despite Monaco leading the game on two occasions, with goals from the resurgent Radamel Falcao and a fresh-faced Kylian Mbappe, City forced a way back into the match and into the tie.
While City would go on to lose the return fixture, this game is simply too good to not rewatch.
Manchester City 2-1 Liverpool (2019)
The greatest Premier League title race of all time?
While both sides were in mightily impressive form throughout the 2018/19 season, City edged their Merseyside rivals to victory and the league title.
Although the season was far from completion, many fans and pundits alike felt that this contest was pivotal for who would be crowned eventual winners.
Goals from Leroy Sane and Aguero - as well as a miraculous goal saving clearance from John Stones - saw City push on to victory, and reduce the gap at the top of the league table to just four points.
Manchester City 8-0 Watford (2019)
This staggeringly impressive display saw the champions rip apart the struggling Watford side with consummate ease.
